Dr. Derek Billing grew up playing sports and loved the camaraderie and competition that came along with it. Sports were his passion and that trend continued throughout his college and professional basketball career. Sports were ultimately what led Dr. Billing to his career choice.
Along the way, he sustained multiple minor injuries and saw a chiropractor to care for them regularly. Because of chiropractic he was able to get back out on the playing surface in short periods of time. It wasn't until after Dr. Billing's first adjustment that he realized chiropractic wasn't about how you felt, but more about how your body is functioning. He realized that in order to perform at his best, he needed to keep his body (nervous system) functioning optimally.
Dr. Billing became interested in chiropractic because it was always able to help him function at a higher level. He was intrigued by how quickly things could heal after an adjustment — without any drugs, opiates or surgery.
Dr. Billing began his pre-chiropractic education at Lake Superior State University where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. After completing his undergrad program, he attended Life University in Marietta, GA. Dr. Billing graduated summa cum laude and as valedictorian of his class from Life University College of Chiropractic. While in school, he attended numerous seminars and obtained an additional certification for adjusting extremities from the Council of Extremity Adjusting.
In 2019, Dr. Billing and his wife made the decision to move back to their home state of Ohio. It is here where Dr. Billing decided to start a pediatric, family chiropractic practice. Dr. Billing is excited to share his passion and a unique chiropractic experience with the families of the area and be a health resource for the community.
Dr. Billing and his wife are beyond excited to be back in Ohio after spending the past 9 years in various parts of the world. They look forward to getting back to their roots and the small town community.
